While house prices hit another high for the fifth consecutive month, there was a noticeable slowdown in the pace of price growth, the latest Rightmove House Price Index has revealed.

Right to buy extension to make home ownership possible for millions more people

Boris Johnson has announced his plans to help reignite homeownership across England. During his speech in Blackpool, he announced that it was “time for a change”. Johnson spoke of benefits to cover mortgage payments and the relaunch of the Right to Buy scheme.

No-fault evictions and pet bans to be scrapped in rental shake-up

Landlords are to be prevented from evicting tenants inEngland without giving a reason, under new proposals.

The Renters Reform Bill will also end blanket bans on benefit claimants or families with children. All tenants will have the right to request having a pet in the home, which landlords will not be able to unreasonably refuse.  The Bill is set to include measures to tackle landlords who let unsafe homes.
