Housing market to remain open during Lockdown 3.0
Despite of the lockdown, the property industry will remain open! Government advice on home moving during the latest lockdown remains unchanged. People in England will be able to move and removal firms, tradespeople and estate agents can still operate by going inside homes.
It is essential that we will continue to play our part in reducing the spread of the virus by following all the relevant guidance.
Ground rent scandal: leaseholders in England get new rights
Leaseholders could soon be allowed to extend their leases by up to 990 years with zero ground rent!
Great news for some and not so great news for others, but all in all we think that it’s a positive move especially for those trapped by ever increasing ground rents.

Stamp duty extension petition gains more than 54,000 signatures
A petition calling for the government to extend the stamp duty holiday until September 2021 has now over 54,000 signatures.
The government last month confirmed that it “does not plan” to extend the temporary relief offered to property buyers via the stamp duty holiday.

Last Friday before Christmas was the busiest day for homeowners
The busiest day of the year was Friday 18th December, home move comparison site Reallymoving has revealed.
Every Friday in December apart from Christmas Day (4th, 11th and 18th December) were all among the top 10 busiest days to move in 2020 for the first time.
